Women’s volleyball goes 1-1 with Bobcats

The University of Manitoba Bisons women’s volleyball team split a two-game series against the Brandon University (BU) Bobcats this weekend. BU won on Friday night, while the Bisons returned the favour Saturday in its final home game of the season. 


Bisons track and field team stands out

It has been a memorable February so far for the Bisons track and field team. Starting the month with the Jim Daly Bisons Classic 1.0 at the James Daly Fieldhouse, many Bisons performed very well in this event. 


Huskies prey on Bisons

The University of Manitoba Bisons men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in a two-game series this past weekend. Unfortunately for the herd, the Huskies were dominant, winning both games and spoiling the Bisons’ final home stand of the Canada West regular season. 




Bisons drop back-to-back against Wesmen

The women’s Bisons basketball team took the court this past weekend as they faced off in back-to-back games against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen. The series started with a game on Friday that resulted in the Wesmen closing the Bisons lead in the Duckworth Challenge. The score currently sits at 2-1 for the U of M.


Nic Demski leads Blue Bombers to Grey Cup

ON DEC. 12, THE WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS CAPTURED ITS SECOND CONSECUTIVE GREY CUP CHAMPIONSHIP, DEFEATING THE HAMILTON TIGER-CATS 33-25 IN OVERTIME. Former Bison football player Nic Demski scored a crucial touchdown in the fourth quarter, helping the Blue Bomber slotback win his first ever Grey Cup’s Most Valuable Canadian award. The Winnipeg native sat down to discuss his recent achievements as well as his journey to the Grey Cup. 


Bisons hope to rebound in second half of season

IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE SEASON, THE U OF M BISONS MEN’S HOCKEY TEAM DID NOT PERFORM LIKE A CHAMPIONSHIP-CONTENDING TEAM. First-year forward Brett Davis says the team’s 3-9 record is not something they are content with.


Bisons men’s basketball recap

The Bisons men’s basketball team is at the halfway point of its season after some impressive play. The team is first in the east division with a 5-3 record and looks to stay in that spot for the rest of the season. The squad went in to the weekend with a 5-1 record before dropping back-to-back games to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.


Bisons volleyball closes out fall semester

The University of Manitoba Bisons volleyball teams played their last series before the winter break at Investors Group Athletic Centre this weekend. The women’s team faced off against the University of Regina Cougars, while the men’s team played its crosstown rivals — the University of Winnipeg Wesmen — with both teams winning and losing a game apiece.
