MB Liberals vow to tackle student debt

Five months before Manitobans are set to cast ballots in the 2016 provincial election, the Liberal party has its sights set on student debt, announcing Thursday a plan to convert provincial student loans into non-repayable grants.




It’s no secret: students will change this election

Young people and students can drastically change the outcome of this federal election. The current government won a majority in the 14 closest ridings by only 6,201 votes. Just imagine what could happen if more young people voted and raised the issues that we care about.




The insurance switcheroo

UMSU’s failure to find an alternate insurance plan comparable to CFS’s is made even bleaker when you consider who uses the plan. During my degree, I opted out of the health and dental plan every year because, as bourgeois scum, I had coverage through my parents. The students who live comfortably and receive some form of parental support will not even notice this premium increase, as they will never have to pay it.
