Bisons represented well in Golden Bear Open

The University of Manitoba Bisons travelled to Alberta this past weekend as the track and field team participated in the Golden Bear Open, with both the men’s and women’s teams making the trip out west. The female roster finished fifth in the weekend rankings while the men’s team impressed and tied for second, a competitive showing by both teams. 


Bisons drop back-to-back against Wesmen

The women’s Bisons basketball team took the court this past weekend as they faced off in back-to-back games against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen. The series started with a game on Friday that resulted in the Wesmen closing the Bisons lead in the Duckworth Challenge. The score currently sits at 2-1 for the U of M.

The Bisons men’s basketball team is at the halfway point of its season after some impressive play. The team is first in the east division with a 5-3 record and looks to stay in that spot for the rest of the season. The squad went in to the weekend with a 5-1 record before dropping back-to-back games to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.


Bisons impress in Canada West championships

The University of Manitoba Bisons took to the pool this past weekend for the 2021 Canada West swimming championships. The event headlined a three-day meet with races staggered throughout the weekend. The Bisons were well represented all three days by swimmers in the men’s and the women’s categories.

The University of Manitoba Bisons football team faced off against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in the Hardy Cup final on Saturday, losing 17-45 to the Huskies in a disappointing ending to an otherwise successful season for the Bisons.
