Bison volleyball teams split in Calgary

This weekend saw the University of Manitoba Bisons volleyball teams close out their regular season in Calgary. Both the men and women earned a split to end off the year. The fourth-ranked men’s team will look forward to the playoffs, with the aim of reaching the Canada West Final Four in Edmonton, while the women’s team will start to look forward to next year’s campaign.

Bison men’s volleyball sweep Wesmen, women continue to falter

This weekend saw the University of Manitoba Bisons volleyball teams pitted against their local rivals, the Winnipeg Wesmen. The pair of games on Thursday – part of the Duckworth Challenge – saw the men emerge victorious while the women were defeated. Saturday was the same stor in terms if results despite the women putting up a much better fight.



Bisons outlast Calgary 6-4 in men’s hockey

The University of Manitoba Bisons men’s hockey team were in action against the Calgary Dinos on Friday at Wayne Fleming Arena in a pivotal game in the Canada West conference. The Bisons earned a critical two points with a 6-4 victory.


Bison women’s volleyball fall short against Thompson Rivers

On Friday night, the University of Manitoba Bisons women’s volleyball team played out a 3-1 loss (17-25, 20-25, 26-24, 19-25) to the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack. The Bisons see their losing streak extend to six games, with a 2-15 conference record. With the win, the Wolfpack extend their winning streak to three games and they sit four points back of fourth placed UBC Okanagan.
