The Bisons swept the series with a 91-60 win on Thursday and won the men’s basketball portion of the Duckworth Challenge on Saturday with a thrilling 79-78 win.
The Bisons dominated on Friday night, claiming a 4-0 win, but fell on Saturday with a score of 5-3. The Bisons now head into the winter break 11-4-0-1, good for second in Canada West.
A weekend to forget for the Bison men’s hockey team, as they dropped both games against the Mount Royal Cougars. They lost a close one on Friday by a score of 4-3, and were dominated 5-1 on Saturday.
On Saturday, the University of Manitoba women’s basketball team were defeated by the #9 University of Winnipeg Wesmen, by a score of 79-71 in the 26th annual Duckworth Challenge

The Bisons had eight swimmers from both the men’s and women’s swim teams, but it was Alex Shogolev and Kelsey Wog who stole the spotlight this weekend. Wog especially had a stellar performance this past weekend in her Bison debut.
The University of Manitoba men’s hockey team played a tough home series against the second-ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies this weekend. The Bisons lost a close game on Friday, falling 2-1 in overtime, but came out with a big 5-2 win on Saturday.
On Saturday, the Bisons men’s basketball team fell to the University of Alberta Golden bears, 72-64.
