Bison volleyball slaughters Saskatchewan

After a conference bye, the University of Manitoba volleyball teams were on the road against the Saskatchewan Huskies. Both the men and women earned sweeps on the weekend.
This weekend, the Bison volleyball teams were tasked with playing the University of Alberta. Both the men and women’s volleyball team are ranked number one in the country.
This weekend, the Bison volleyball teams headed out to Kelowna to play a pair of games against the UBC Okanagan Heat.
The men are now 3-1 on the year and sit third in the Canada West behind local rivals Winnipeg Wesmen. The women sit in a seven-team tie for third in the Canada West with a 2-2 record.
Fans will have to wait a bit to see this potential championship-winning side to play again at home, when they play the Alberta Golden Bears on Nov. 18-19.

The University of Manitoba Bisons volleyball teams had opposite seasons, with the men enjoying more success than the women. The men crashed out of the Canada West Final Four while the women failed to qualify for the playoffs, but both teams had positives and the Manitoban outlined some of the best moments this volleyball season – five from each team.
The Bisons fell in three sets (22-25, 19-25, 22-25) in the semi-finals on Friday against the Saskatchewan Huskies and had to play in the bronze medal game against Alberta to still have a chance at the CIS National Championships. Unfortunately, they were swept 3-0 (18-25, 17-25, 14-25) in that game as well.
This weekend, the third-ranked University of Manitoba Bisons men’s volleyball team hosted the 10th-ranked Mount Royal Cougars in Canada West quarterfinal action.
