U of M Bisons drop pair at home to Regina Cougars

In a battle for second last in the conference, the herd hosted the University of Regina Cougars for a two-game set. Manitoba failed to score in either contest and was swept at home.With the loss, Manitoba — losers of five straight — now sits last in the conference with seven points through 10 games.


Bisons open basketball season with weekend sweep of Heat

The IG Athletic Centre janitorial staff had an easy job over the weekend, as the U of M Bisons basketball teams did all the sweeping for them. The men’s and women’s sides both doubled up on the visiting University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat to open the season.


University of Manitoba Bisons should take penalty killing cue from Canada West opponents

Currently last in the conference, just behind the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, at 66.7 per cent, the Bisons have given up 13 goals on 39 short-handed situations. This does not need to be the case, as the herd has all the tools necessary for a strong penalty-kill, preventing goals against and turning the tide in games. It all comes down to how the kill is deployed.
