Position: Sports Reporter
Company: The Manitoban
Salary: $221.20 biweekly
Term: October 2024 – April 2025

About the position: The sports reporter will be expected to attend and recap U of M Bison sports events, interview coaches and players, and occasionally cover local professional sports. A sound knowledge of sports is a must. Preference will be given to candidates with a keen interest in university athletics. Reporters are expected to produce two (2) articles, or the equivalent of 1,000-1,500 words, per issue of the Manitoban.

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate must enjoy writing and have a good understanding of the English language and Canadian Press writing style.
• Experience with regular assignment deadlines is also an asset.
• Applicants should currently be a student or have been a student in the past two years.
• No prior experience necessary.
