Manitoba battled back-and-forth against a Calgary Dinos team that had 13 returning players from 2014-15 and were picked by many experts to win the conference this season.

After losing four games in a row dating back to last month, the Bisons have turned their season around. Head coach Jon Rempel’s squad has now captured five straight wins, improving their record to 7-5 on the season.

The University of Manitoba Bisons men’s hockey team played host to a pair of games this weekend against the Lethbridge Pronghorns. They dropped the first tilt by a score of 7-5 on Friday and fell 5-1 on Saturday.

At only 15 years old, the second goaltender taken in the 2013 draft took one step closer to the NHL. His numbers during his final year of midget hockey were outstanding, producing a 1.40 goals against average and 0.947 save percentage in 21 games for the 2013-14 season.
