Two campus groups have received approval from University of Manitoba’s Student Union (UMSU) to hold a referendum on hiking their student fees as part of this year’s UMSU general election.
Harvey Secter, University of Manitoba alumni and dean emeritus of the university’s Robson Hall faculty of law, was re-elected as chancellor of the university on Feb. 3 and will have completed nine years in the position by the end of his term in 2019.
Coming in just under the wire, chief returning officers (CRO) for both the upcoming University of Manitoba Students’ Union (UMSU) and University of Manitoba Graduate Students’ Association (UMSGA) general elections were selected the week before nominations opened.
