October saw several accounts of criminal activity at the University of Manitoba.
Ten thefts were reported from Oct. 1 to 31, nine of them being missing laptops taken from unattended spots or lockers. A male who does not attend the U of M has been arrested and charged.
Three acts of vandalism occurred in October. One incident included damage to a parkade gate. The remaining two incidents involved vandalism to tunnel cameras and signs. These acts occurred during socials on campus.
Alcohol played a large factor in criminal activity at the university, with seven incidents linked to alcohol consumption occurring. Three of the events led to medical treatment for the intoxicated individuals. Due to intoxication and refused entry to a campus social, Security Services took one male to the Main Street Project.
