At the Manitoban, there are lots of volunteer opportunities! We welcome submissions for writing in all sections, as well as photography, graphics, design, and diversions!
No experience is required! Volunteering for the ‘Toban is a great learning experience for those interested in journalism or who want to see their work published in print and online! If you know what section you’d like to volunteer for, email that section’s editor and they can set you up with an assignment and any other information you may need! Otherwise, send our Managing Editor an email, or fill out the general form below!
If you don’t know what you want to write yet, our editors have stories to give you! If you have an idea for a story you want to tell, we welcome pitches in all sections! We’re interested in anything happening around the U of M campus or that concerns, features, and amplifies U of M voices. This includes campus news, student or faculty events or initiatives, student activism, and more!
There are two opportunities yearly to apply to be paid staff: once in June as an editor and once in the fall as a reporter or associate. Volunteering is a way to practice and get published without the commitment. You can volunteer as much or as little as you like!
