Firefighters were called to the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus just before 6 a.m. this morning to put out a fire.
The fire started on the South side of Central Energy Plant, located on the corner of Maclean Crescent and Service 1 Rd S, across from Mary Speechly Hall.
As of 9:20 a.m. no cause had been identified for the fire but firefighters, police, and university security services remained on site while investigators worked to determine the cause.
A tweet from the University of Manitoba’s official twitter account warned that the university’s heating system may be affected by the damage.
