Five Questions is a continuing column in which we pose a
different artist the same five crucial questions.
One:
The Manitoban: What substance or activity do you find
to be creativity-producing?
James Struthers: Basque Pelota.
Two:
M: Who is your preferred teen idol?
(e.g., Justin Bieber, Jonas Brothers, etc.)
J.S.: Who sings “I Whip My Hair Back And Forth”?
Cuz it wouldn’t be them.
Three:
M: What’s the most embarrassing album you’ve ever owned?
J.S.: A signed copy of Backstreets Back on cassette. Only, I’m not embarrassed anymore. The money I made selling it on Ebay paid for the reconstruction of my public image.
Four:
M: What’s your motto?
J.S.: I always liked, “What doesn’t kill you outright . . . just reminds you to keep your head up.” That and “F#$@ the police.”
Five:
M: Animal, vegetable, or mineral?
J.S.: Chicken soup.
James Struthers plays the Bluebird North showcase Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Park Theatre.
