Despite project cuts, the Aboriginal House is most likely to obtain its goal of LEED gold certification according to Dennis Kwan, associate architect of Prairie Architecture Inc., who was responsible for seeing the building from design to construction.

U of M scores C on green report card

Last week, the newly launched Greenreportcard.org gave the University of Manitoba a C in environmental sustainability. Only one Canadian university received an A-, UBC. Other comparable universities include the University of Saskatchewan with a C+, the University of New Brunswick with a C and McMaster University with a C-.
But according to officials at the U of M, this grade does not reflect the sustainability initiatives undertaken on campus or its standing as a leader in energy efficiency.
