CanWest and CIS Male Athlete of the Week
After scoring eight points in a two-game home series versus the UBC Thunderbirds on Oct. 7 and 8, Saurette was named as both the CanWest and the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) athlete of the week for the week ending Oct. 9. Saurette, a Winnipeg native, is in his fifth year of eligibility and is a co-captain on the Bison men’s hockey team.
Annie Bogar
Smitty’s Bison Sports Female Athlete of the Week
For her solid defensive performances in three Bison losses, Bison women’s soccer player Annie Bogar was named as the Smitty’s Bison Sports Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 9. Bogar, a Winnipeg native and a Management student, is in her first year of CIS eligibility.
Kristjan Hunter
Smitty’s Bison Sports Male Athlete of the Week
Hunter won first place in the 8-kilometre race at the University of Saskatchewan Open on Oct. 1. Last year, Hunter was the Bison men’s cross-country MVP and a First-Team All-Canadian. He is currently in his third year of eligibility.
Caley Miskimmin
CanWest and CIS Male Athlete of the Week
Miskimmin was named as the CIS and CanWest Female Athlete of the Week after putting in a solid performance in the Bison women’s soccer team’s victory over the defending national champions, the Trinity Western Spartans, on Sept. 29. She is in her first year of CIS eligibility and is taking University 1 courses.
